Study Confirms Ephedrine Danger
Ephedrine based weight loss supplements can be deadly, according to a new study released this past Thursday.
Scientists tested ephedrine on healthy dogs and found that the supplement had little effect. However, researchers found that when they artifically blocked the arteries of dogs, ephedrine had dangerous effects.
In particular, when the heart artery was blocked, the dogs' heart rates "went through the roof." Scientists theorize that similar problems lead to problems that seemingly healthy people faced who used the supplement. The doctors found that the heart began beating so fast that it could no longer pump blood properly.
